PENSACOLA, FLA. – The No. 16 University of West Florida volleyball team continued its dominant Gulf South Conference run on Saturday afternoon, defeating Trevecca Nazarene 3–1 (25–22, 25–14, 22–25, 25–14) at the UWF Field House. The Argonauts improved to 17–3 overall and 10–0 in GSC play.
West Florida showcased a balanced offensive attack, hitting .252 as a team and registering 56 kills across four sets.
Kumara Flanagain led the way with a team-high 13 kills on an efficient .387 hitting percentage, while
Magdalena Vongkasemsiri matched her total with 13 kills and added five blocks to fuel the UWF defense.
Ana Colon also contributed eight kills, providing key points in the middle.
Setter
Gabi Moulton directed the offense with 45 assists and added 13 digs for a double-double, while
Maddie Mire anchored the back row with a match-high 15 digs. On the front line,
Emily Breazeale tallied 10 kills and three blocks, and
Aniston Cochran chipped in nine kills at a stellar .350 clip.
The Argonauts controlled the match early, taking the first two sets behind strong hitting and relentless defense. After dropping a close third set 25–22, UWF regrouped and closed out the match with a dominant fourth set, limiting Trevecca to just .083 hitting while swinging .263 themselves.
The victory marks West Florida's 10th consecutive conference win, solidifying their position atop the GSC standings as they head into the final stretch of regular season play. The Argos will remain at home next weekend to face Christian Brothers on Friday, October 24, at 6:00 p.m. Live stats will be available at GoArgos.com.
