The Argos Draw 2-2 in a GSC Battle Against Christian Brothers

PENSACOLA, Fla. - In a Gulf South Conference showdown, the number 1 seed in the GSC West Florida battled to a 2-2 draw with second place in the GSC Christian Brothers on Sunday afternoon. The teams delivered a fast paced back and forth battle.

Christian Brothers struck first in the 8th minute capitalizing on an early free kick that found the back of the net and gave the Bucs a quick 1-0 lead. The Argonauts wasted no time responding. Just two minutes later, Adrian Rodriquez netted a goal for UWF in the 10th minute, swinging the momentum back to the home side.

West Florida continued to press, and their aggression paid off in the 19th minute. After a fast break pass from Chase Haskins to Leonardo Souza to score the goal giving the Argos a 2-1 advantage.

However, in the 26th minute, the Bucs found a goal leveling the score at 2-2. An edge of you seat first half that featured all four goals of the match.

The second half belonged largely to UWF, as the Argos controlled possession and kept the ball primarily in CBU's half. Despite having multiple scoring opportunities and maintaining offensive pressure, UWF couldn't find the breakthrough goal.

The Argos will hit the road and take on Spring Hill on October 24, at 3:30 p.m.
