PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 16 University of West Florida volleyball team extended its winning streak to 12 on Saturday morning with a sweep over Union (25-14, 25-21, 25-12) at the UWF Field House. With the win, the Argonauts improved to 19-3 overall and 12-0 in the GSC.
UWF hit an impressive .333 as a team and never trailed in the match after the opening points. The Argos' balanced offensive effort was led by
Kumara Flanagain, who tallied 11 kills on .381 hitting, along with 10 kills from
Ana Colon and eight from
Gabi Moulton, who also posted an impressive .667 hitting percentage.
Moulton orchestrated the offense with 35 assists, while adding nine digs and eight kills, earning another strong all-around performance.
Reece Wright contributed six kills on .600 hitting off the bench, and
Aniston Cochran chipped in five kills and an ace.
Defensively,
Maddie Mire posted a match-high 13 digs, followed by Moulton and
Brighton Ferguson with nine each. At the net,
Magdalena Vongkasemsiri recorded three blocks, and Flanagain added one solo and one assist to round out a solid defensive front.
UWF controlled every statistical category, out-killing Union 48-27 and doubling the Bulldogs' block total (6-3). The Argos also limited Union to just a .117 hitting percentage, highlighted by holding the visitors under .100 in two of three sets.
