PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argos won a hard battle against a tough Lee team on Friday night at home. UWF was able to come out on top 1-0.
 
Early in the first half, the Argos found the back of the net. Megan Gettys was able to assist Olof Thorvaldsdottir in the 12^th minute, putting UWF up 1-0, with their lone goal of the match. Thorvaldsdottir now leads the Argos with five goals so far this season.
 
The Argos defended the goal the rest of the match, keeping the Lady Flames from finding the back of the net. The Flames kept battling the whole match, but UWF was able to stop them.
 
"This was a massive win against a great team," said Coach Joe Bartlinski. "The players dug in deep and won a lot of headers and tackles, stuff that doesn't go on stats."
 
Rece Grant played impressive defense, helping clear the ball when the Lady Flames found themselves in the Argos territory.
 
UWF produced six corner kicks and nine shots. Thorvaldsdottir had four of those shots with three on goal.
 
The Argos are back at home on Sunday to play Trevecca Nazarene at 12:30 p.m.
