Argos Finish the Weekend 2-0 after Win over Trevecca Nazarene

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argos took offensive control right from the beginning of Sunday's match against Trevecca Nazarene, where they won 4-1.

In the first minute, Hunter Wallace had a goal with an assist from Mya Swinton. This put UWF up 1-0, and they were able to maintain the lead throughout the first half. This is Wallace's third goal of the season.

The Trojans were able to find the back of the net once in the second half during the 66th minute. Olof Thorvaldsdottir quickly answered when she scored off a free kick, which she took from around the UWF bench, putting UWF up 2-1, and securing the game winner.

The Argos quickly followed up that goal with their third goal from graduate student Mya Swinton. In the 88th minute, Alexis Castle found the back of the net to further secure the win for the Argos. Megan Gettys recorded the assist. Gettys finished the match with three shots, where she tied with Swinton and Wallace for the most shots of the match.

"Two tough opponents this weekend, pleased with the wins," said coach Joe Bartlinski. "Took some amazing goals for us to pull out the victories. We need to rest, reset, and get ready for a tough road stretch."

The Argos outshot the Trojans 20-4, with 10 shots on goal. UWF was able to produce eight corner kicks.

West Florida finished the weekend 2-0 and will travel to Montgomery, Ala., on Friday, Oct. 10, for a 5 p.m. match against Auburn University Montgomery.
