PENSACOLA, Fla. – The No. 16 University of West Florida volleyball team extended its winning streak to six matches with a dominant 3-0 (25-14, 25-8, 25-14) victory over Auburn Montgomery on Tuesday evening at the UWF Field House. The Argonauts improved to 13-3 overall and 6-0 in Gulf South Conference play.
West Florida hit an impressive .337 as a team while holding AUM to a .013 clip, marking the Argonauts' most efficient offensive outings of the season.
Kumara Flanagain led the attack with nine kills on a .615 hitting percentage, followed by
Reece Wright with seven kills and
Ana Colon with five kills and a match-high five aces.
Kaylin Johnson and
Cate Wright added strong contributions off the bench, combining for nine kills on .600 hitting.
Setter
Gabi Moulton steered the offense with 27 assists, while
Maddie Mire anchored the defense with 11 digs. The Argonauts' serve receive and back-row defense were equally sharp, tallying 42 digs and limiting AUM to single-digit points in the second set.
UWF never trailed in the match and recorded its sixth consecutive straight-set victory, maintaining sole possession of first place in the GSC standings.
West Florida will hit the road this weekend to face West Alabama on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Mississippi College on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Live stats will be available on GoArgos.com.
