Carmichael and Chappell Earn USTFCCCA All-Region Honors

Tandem placed in Top 25 at NCAA South Regional 6K Saturday to earn All-Region Honors

NEW ORLEANS, La. – Freshman Elyse Carmichael and Junior Jessica Chappell earned All-Region honors, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Monday.

Chappell and Carmichael placed in the top 25 out of 135 runners competing at the meet, becoming the first Argos to earn USTFCCCA All-Region honors for the first time since Renee Cox in 2017.

Chappell placed 21st with a final time of 22:20.3. Carmichael finished 25th with a final of 22:31.9. The duo recorded a historic season for the Argos, setting half of the current school records in the women's 6K during the 2025 season. Carmichael also earned three GSC Freshman of the Week awards, tied for the most by a UWF freshman (Chloe Rook, 2022).
