NEW ORLEANS, La. – Five members of UWF Cross Country earned All-Academic honors for their accomplishments in the classroom and on the course, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced Thursday afternoon.
Four members belonged to UWF Women's Cross Country, and one to the men's team.
Elyse Carmichael,
Jessica Chappell,
Sydney Orth, and
Chloe Rook all earned the honor, with
Carson King earning it on the men's side.
The women's Cross Country Team earned a full-team recognition by the USTFCCCA for their 3.77 team GPA average.
Honorees were required to attain a "cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-30 percent of their respective regional championship meet, among other qualifiers" according to the USTFCCCA.
All four mentioned women's team qualifiers placed inside the top 40 at NCAA DII South Regionals. King placed top 70 in the men's race to qualify.
