Donor Spotlight: Beth Calhoun

November Donor of the Month

Beth Calhoun is our November Donor of the Month! Read below to see why Beth gives and her passion for supporting UWF.

"I believe in helping deserving students, which is why I set up an endowment for Industrial students through the Hal Marcus College of Science and Engineering. That same spirit now motivates my support for the Women's Golf Team. I'm constantly impressed by these student-athletes and their coach—every day, they consistently demonstrate what it means to be an ARGO, not only through their dedication in competitions but also by actively engaging in campus events and serving as outstanding role models for their peers.

Back in the 1960s, when I was a student at UWF, there were no Women's athletics programs. Now, I make the most of every opportunity to participate in sports and campus life, which weren't available to me before. I'm grateful to visit campus at least once a year, where I lecture in the Chemistry department, cheer at football games, play golf with the Women's team, and connect with the outstanding professors and coaches. Over time, many of these talented individuals have become like family.

My goal is simple: to make a meaningful difference in the lives of as many people in my university community as possible. I'm committed to supporting both the Chemistry Department and the Women's Golf Team, whether it's through my endowment or extra funding throughout the year—whatever I can do to help.

I'm proud to call UWF my undergraduate home and deeply value friendships and connections I've made there. I invite you to join me in supporting the Women's Golf Team. Together, we can help them reach new heights and turn their championship dreams into reality.
