• Why do you give to UWF Athletics?

We give to UWF Athletics because the University of West Florida played a significant role in shaping our future. As a UWF graduate from the Class of 1998, the education, experiences, and relationships I gained there provided a foundation for my career success. Supporting UWF Athletics is one of the ways I can give back to an institution that invested in me and helped open doors throughout my professional life.
 

• Why do you continue to give annually?

We continue to give annually because we believe in the mission of UWF and the positive impact athletics has on student-athletes. Consistent support helps provide opportunities for young men and women to compete, grow as leaders, and earn a quality education. We have been fortunate in our own careers, and making an annual contribution is my way of helping ensure today's students have access to the same life-changing opportunities that I enjoyed.
 

•  What would you say is the best thing about supporting UWF Athletics? 

The best part of supporting UWF Athletics is knowing that our contribution directly impacts student-athletes and their experience. Athletics teaches discipline, teamwork, accountability, and perseverance, traits that extend far beyond the playing field. It's rewarding to know that our support helps students develop skills that will benefit them long after graduation.

•  What makes you passionate about UWF Athletics? 

From Joel: "UWF Athletics has been part of our life for as long as I can remember. My dad, Joe Ambersley, served as Athletic Director in the 1980s, and I grew up watching the impact athletics had on students, alumni, and the community. Later, as a UWF graduate myself, I experienced firsthand how the university helped shape my career and future. Supporting UWF Athletics is a way to honor that legacy, stay connected to the university, and help create opportunities for the next generation of Argos".
