Argos Finish Regular Season with 0-0 Draw Against Alabama Huntsville

Pensacola, Fla.- The University of West Florida men's soccer team closed out their regular season on Sunday afternoon with a 0-0 draw against Alabama Huntsville. With both teams already locked into the Gulf South Conference Tournament, the match saw a slower tempo as each side looked to stay sharp heading into postseason play.

The first half was evenly matched, with both teams recording three shots and testing each other's defenses but finding no breakthrough. After the break, the Argos began to control the pace, out shooting the Chargers 7-4 in the second half. Despite creating several quality chances, UWF couldn't find the finishing touch to grab the win.

Defensively, the Argos stood firm, earning another shutout behind a composed back line and strong goalkeeping. The tie extends UWF's unbeaten streak to over two months, a stretch that has them entering the postseason with confidence and momentum.

After the match, head coach Bill Elliott reflected on his team's performance and the upcoming tournament:

"Tournament play is exciting... knockout stages... we are excited to get in there and see what we can do," Elliott said. "It's been over two months since we have lost a game, but we have to go out and get wins — we can't go in and expect ties in the playoffs."

With the regular season wrapped up, the Argos turn their attention to the GSC Tournament, where they'll begin postseason play at home on November 9th.
