Box Score Mayagüez, PR – The University of West Florida men's basketball team closed out its Puerto Rico trip in dominant fashion on Tuesday afternoon, rolling past UPR–Mayagüez 127–65. The 127 points mark the second-highest scoring output in program history and capped off a perfect, highly productive trip for the Argonauts.
For the second straight game, Jay King led the Argos in scoring, finishing with 20 points on 6-of-11 shooting, including a 4-for-7 effort from beyond the arc. As a team, UWF shot 52 percent from the field and 41 percent from three (14-for-34) to overwhelm Mayagüez from start to finish.
The Argonauts saw balanced production across the lineup, with five additional players reaching double figures:
Andrew Sineway (19 points),
Elijah Wyche (14),
Colby McAllister (12),
Christian Monroe (12), and Tim Hall (10).
On the glass, Wyche,
Aric Demings, and
Anthony Igiede each grabbed a team-high seven rebounds, helping UWF dominate the boards with a 50–32 advantage. Demings also paced the Argos with five assists, leading a UWF offense that totaled 21 assists on 47 made field goals.
UWF never trailed and built a lead of as many as 64 points. The Argonauts conclude their Puerto Rico trip 2–0, returning home with momentum and confidence ahead of the regular-season slate.
