PENSACOLA, Fla. -The UWF women's basketball team beat Valdosta State, 82-71 on Saturday afternoon.
The Argos set the tone early, controlling the game from the opening whistle. At half the Argos were winning 43-27.
Finley Kennedy led the Argos with four steals as she dove for multiple balls.
Amelia Bell was the other Argo with three steals.
Amelia Bell was the leading scorer for UWF dropping 23 points, grabbing six rebounds, and having four blocks.
In the third quarter VSU started to gain some momentum with guard Erin Whalen hitting multiple shots beyond the arc and leading the Blazers with 15 points.Â
But UWF took over in the fourth quarter with eight different Argos finding a basket throughout the game.
In addition to Bell, two more Argos were in double digits.
Avery O'Connor with 16 points and
Janai Jordan with 11 points.
UWF will travel to Cleveland Tennessee to play next against Lee University at 4:30 p.m.
