West Florida Falls in Regional Semifinals

TAMPA, Fla. – The University of West Florida volleyball team battled top-ranked and unbeaten Tampa on Friday night, pushing the Spartans in a highly competitive four-set match before falling 3–1 (16–25, 25–21, 21–25, 24–26). The Argonauts finish their season 28–6.

Emily Breazeale delivered a strong offensive performance, posting a match-high 22 kills on 50 swings, hitting .280 and adding 13 digs for a double-double effort. Setter Gabi Moulton continued her standout postseason run, posting 47 assists, 12 digs, and 11 kills to tally her third triple-double of the year. Freshman Ana Colon and Reece Wright added nine kills apiece, with Wright swinging at a .364 mark and Colon contributing two digs and solid front-row pressure.

Defensively, the Argonauts were led by Maddie Mire, who collected a team-high 19 digs as UWF held their own in long rallies against Tampa's high-powered attack. The Argos also saw strong back-row support from Camryn Brooks (14 digs) and Breazeale's 13.

After dropping the opening set, West Florida responded with a strong second frame, hitting .325 to even the match. The Argonauts continued to apply pressure in sets three and four, holding the Spartans below .300 hitting in both, and finishing in thrilling fashion as the final frame went 26-24.
