MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The University of West Florida fell to Christian Brothers University on the road on Saturday afternoon, 71-66.
Elijah Wyche had his second highest scoring output of the season with 18 points to lead the team. The junior also had five rebounds, four blocks, a steal and assist.
UWF took the lead into halftime, holding a 34-31 lead at the break. The Buccaneers regained the lead a few minutes into the second half and never gave it back up. The Argos tied the game on two different occasions midway through the half but was never able to break through.
The difference in the game was Christian Brothers ability to get to the free throw line. The Bucs were 13-of-16 from the charity stripe while the Argos were 7-of-9.
UWF (7-19, 6-14 GSC) will be at home for the final two games of the season. They will host Montevallo on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and finish the season on Saturday against Auburn Montgomery at 4 p.m.
