UWF Releases 2025 Football Schedule

Season Ticket Renewals Start on March 3rd; Other Ticket Purchase Information To Be Announced Soon

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida football team is heading into its tenth season of competition and head coach Kaleb Nobles has announced the 2025 schedule.

The Argos will host five home games and will be on the road for five games.

The 2025 season opener will take place at PenAir Field on Friday, August 29 against South Atlantic Conference opponent Lenoir Rhyne. The season will kick off with two of the top programs in the nation. Lenoir Rhyne finished the 2024 season with a 10-3 record and a bid to the NCAA tournament where they beat West Alabama in the first round before falling to Virginia Union. The Bears were ranked No. 16 in the final AFCA national poll. Game time is slated for 6 p.m.

UWF will then head to Kentucky Wesleyan University for what will be the Panthers season-opening game. The teams have only played once before with the Argos winning 35-3 in 2023.

On Sept. 13 West Florida will be back at home to host Shorter University at 6 p.m. The Argos have matched up with Shorter eight times in program history and UWF remains a perfect 8-0.

North Greenville sets up as the next opponent on Sept. 20. The Argos will travel to Tigerville, South Carolina for the game. It will be the first season since 2019 that North Greenville competes as a non-Gulf South Conference member. The Trailblazers have moved back to the Conference Carolinas for the 2025 season.

After a week off, the Argos will be on the road again at Northeastern State University for a game on Oct. 4. It will be the first time the two teams have met in program history. The Riverhawks finished the 2024 season with a 2-9 record.

Next on the schedule is Chowan at home on PenAir field on Oct. 11 at 4 p.m. Chowan has also moved to Conference Carolinas beginning in the 2025 season. West Florida has beaten the Hawks in the last three matchups.

On Oct. 18 the Argos will play its first GSC game when they travel to West Alabama. The Argos will be looking for revenge after falling to the Tigers at home last season, 35-33 in double overtime.

West Virginia State will come to Pensacola on Oct. 25 for a 2 p.m. kickoff. The Mountain East conference members were 6-5 in 2024. The Argos have never played the Yellowjackets before.

To kick off November UWF will travel to Cleveland, Miss. to face off against conference opponent Delta State. West Florida's history with Delta runs deep in both regular season and post season play. The Argos are 6-4 all-time with the Statesmen.

For the second straight year, UWF will close out the regular season against GSC rival Valdosta State. The Blazers fell in the 2024 national championship game to Ferris State and ended up as No. 2 in the final national polls. The game on Nov. 15 will kick off at 2 p.m. at PenAir Field.

UWF finished the 2024 season 7-3 and missed postseason play.
