PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida baseball team won the final two games of the three game weekend series with No. 16 Delta on Saturday afternoon. UWF dropped game one, 4-0 but responded with a 2-0 win and then 6-2 victory over the Statesmen.
The Argos improved to 9-7 on the season and 6-3 in the Gulf South Conference.
In Saturday's 2-0 win, UWF took the lead in the fifth inning when
Jadon Fryman hit a double down the left field line to score
Brantley Willis who had singled earlier in the at bat. The second run was driven in two innings later in the seventh when
Brett Rowell doubled to right field to score

Jacob Heath who went eight full innings and closer
Brantley Willis delivered a perfect final two innings going three up, three down to never allow Delta State a chance to get back into the game. Heath had four strikeouts and only gave up three hits in the win.
In the second game of the day on Saturday it was the second inning that broke the game open for the Argos highlighted by Rowell's three-run homer to right field to give UWF a 5-0 lead.
The Statesmen put two on the board in the fourth inning, but that's all the offense Delta could muster up in a three-hit game for the team.
UWF added an insurance run in the sixth when
Alex Urias scored.
Grant Adams threw five innings on the mound while picking up his third win of the season. The senior pitched six strikeouts while allowing just three hits.
Kade Manderscheid came in relief and gave up no hits and no runs.
The Argos will host North Georgia for a pair of games next week beginning with a game on Tuesday night at Blue Wahoos Stadium in downtown Pensacola. That game will start at 6 p.m. The team will return to Jim Spooner Field for a Wednesday afternoon game with North Georgia at 2 p.m.
