PENSACOLA, Fla. - West Florida women's tennis (10-6, 4-2 GSC) celebrated its new No. 10 national ranking with a sweep of Arkansas Tech (5-8) at Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex on Wednesday afternoon to counterbalance a narrow 4-3 loss on Tuesday afternoon to Division I Jacksonville State (8-5, 1-1 C-USA).

The Argos stunned the Gamecocks from Jacksonville, Ala., early to take the doubles point.
Giuliana Sacco and
Alberte Joergensen evened things up with a 6-4 win on court three over Irene Artigas and Aneka Patel.
Sandra Recuenco and
Carlota Verdu, now ranked No. 5 in the ITA DII National Doubles Rankings, then proved the mettle of the Division II ranks by clinching the opening score with a 7-5 final at the top of the lineup over Ella Tuomela and Polina Ramenskaja.
However, JSU came back to take the lead as its depth showed in two-set wins on courts one, four, five and six. The two additional Argo points came from Recuenco 4-6, 6-2, 6-3 over Lea Erenda and
Aline Midori Da Silva 7-6 (9-7), 6-4 over Artigas. Unfortunately, it was too little, too late.
