PENSACOLA, Fla. – UWF Softball (24-10, 15-5) dropped game three of its series against #5 Auburn Montgomery 1-5 on Saturday morning, allowing the Argos to come back and take the series 1-2. 
 
It is the first series loss and consecutive losses for the Argos since their opening GSC series against Montevallo on Feb. 14-15. UWF drops to fourth in the conference behind Mississippi College, AUM, and Valdosta State. 
 
The Argos were held to their lowest run total in a series all season with four runs between the three games. The five errors committed by UWF in game three was also the highest mark this year. 
 
Gianna Guerriero finished off a consistent weekend of production with another 2 for 3 batting performances with a run. She was caught stealing for the first time all season, ending her streak at 29 attempts. Hannah Harper had the Argos' only RBI single.
 
Haley Guffey picked up her fifth loss on the season, shifting her record to 15-5. 
 
UWF 1, #5 AUM 5 
 
AUM wasted little time getting on the board in the first, earning a walk and stealing second before an error scored a run. West Florida cleared the inning and managed to respond thanks to Guerriero's single and Harper's RBI single. UWF left two on base to end the inning. 
 
Both teams went down in order in the second. In the third, another error allowed a runner to take base and advance another runner to third. An error on the next at bat scored another Warhawk runner from third. In the bottom of the inning Guerriero singled but was caught stealing and two groundouts ended the frame.
 
UWF entered the fourth down 2-1, but the Warhawks took control from here on. A single and a sacrifice bunt put a runner in scoring position. A single and a steal put two in place, and then an 2-RBI single up the middle pushed it to 4-1. An RBI double followed shortly after, making it 5-1. 
 
AUM was forced to straned seven total runners over the next three innings as the Argos attempted to battle back, but UWF could only put 3 runners of their own on a bag. UWF went down in order in the bottom of the seventh for a 1-5 loss.
