Box Score BIRMINGHAM, Ala - The University of West Florida Argonauts (20-10, 16-8 Gulf South) took on the top-seeded Union Bulldogs (28-3, 23-1 Gulf South) in the 2025 Truist GSC Women's Basketball Championship semifinal in the Pete Hanna Center on the campus of Samford University.

Both teams hit the court hot, shooting over 40-percent in the first quarter. The game was tied 12-12 at just four minutes in.

Union started to pull away and led 28-20 before the Argos went on a 9-0 run and took their first lead at 29-28 with 2:59 left in the half.
Rylie Stephens helped power the run with two baskets, and UWF went to the locker room tied 35-35.

Stephens finished the half with 10 points and eight rebounds.
Delaney Trushel matched Stephens with 10 points in the first 20 minutes.

"We were sharing the ball well," said UWF Head Coach Stephanie Lawrence-Yelton. "We had confidence. They were trapping. We were able to find open players. We were attacking with confidence, and then we really got down and defended."

The second half saw a major shift in momentum in favor of the Bulldgos. Union jumped out with an 11-0 run that the Argos could not recover from.

UWF outrebounded Union 43-29, but the Bulldogs' full-court pressure forced the Argos into 24 turnovers, leading to 32 Union points.

"The adjustment they made with us is they stopped trapping as much and then just got down one-on-one full-court defense," said Lawrence-Yelton after the game. "And we really had a hard time going against that pressure and trying to get into some offensive sets."

Union shot a solid 40-percent from three-point range. UWF struggled from the outside, going 4-for-17 from beyond the arc.

Trushel finished with a team-high 22 points, shooting 70-percent from the floor. Stephens posted a double-double with 16 points while grabbing a team-high 14 rebounds.
Bella Green chipped in 10 points for the Argos.

Union had four players in double figures, with Alexis Callins pacing the Bulldogs with 16 points.

The Argos fall to 20-10 on the season and must wait until Selection Sunday (March 9th) to learn their NCAA Regional fate.
