OXFORD, Ala. – The UWF baseball team fell to Montevallo on Tuesday, 4-2 to end their run in the Gulf South Conference Championship.
The Argos scored two runs in the second inning to take the first lead of the game.
Zack Stokes two RBI single scored
Tanner Taylor and
Brantley Willis who both singled earlier in the inning.
Montevallo tied the game in third inning, 2-2 and then homeruns by Eva Radford in the sixth and eighth inning gave the Falcons the lead.
UWF had seven hits with
Cade Easterbrook leading the team with two hits.
Grant Adams pitched six innings in the start and recorded six strikeouts.
West Florida will await the NCAA selection show on Sunday, May 11 at 9:30 p.m. to see their next steps for postseason play. In the most recent regional rankings on April 27 the Argos were ranked second overall in the South Region.
