West Florida Tops Embry-Riddle 3-1

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argos continued their win streak with an impressive 3-1 win over Embry-Riddle on Sunday afternoon. The Argos came out firing early and never looked back, fueled by a dominant first half and a standout performance from Manu Bernabeu.

West Florida opened the scoring in the 26th minute when Esteves Rafael calmly converted a penalty kick after a foul, giving the Argos a 1-0 lead. Just three minutes later, Bernabeu doubled the advantage, scoring a goal to put UWF up 2-0 at halftime.

The Argos controlled much of the first half, outpacing Embry-Riddle in possessions and chances, and carried their momentum into the second half. Embry-Riddle managed to pull one back early in the second half, but it was too little too late as West Florida didn't let up and kept on attacking.

Bernabeu struck again in the 79th minute, netting his second goal of the night off an assist from Jonas Grauer extending the lead to 3-1.

With the win, UWF improves their season record to 2-1-1 and continues to build momentum for Gulf South Conference play.

UWF will continue their road trips with a matchup pn Friday against Delta State in Cleveland, MS. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
