LIVINGSTON, Ala. –
Isabel Grimes scored a career-high 32 points in Thursday's Gulf South Conference road game at West Alabama, but the Argos fell to the Tigers 66-62.
Grimes scored over half the points for UWF on 11-of-18 shooting from the field including going 9-of-14 from the free throw line. The guard also added five rebounds, four assists, and two steals.
The Argos were cold from the floor most of the night shooting just 32-percent from the field and 16-percent from 3-point range.
Offensive rebounds for West Alabama were the recipe for success for the hosts as the team corralled 21 offensive boards and outrebounded the Argos 56-37. West Florida maintained the lead in the fourth quarter until the 3:50 mark when an offensive rebound and score gave the Tigers a 54-52 lead, which they would never relinquish.
UWF (13-6, 8-4 GSC) is third overall in the GSC standings behind Lee and UAH. Due to the forecasted inclement weather the Argos will play at UAH tomorrow instead of Saturday. Tipoff is at 5 p.m. against the top team in the conference.
