The Argos Return with a 3-1 Win over the Dolphins

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The Argos came back strong after Hurricane Isaias and beat Jacksonville University 3-1 Thursday afternoon.

UWF came out strong in the first half. They held possession of the ball and were able to find the back of the net.

Becca Baldelomar was able to score in the 15th minute after assists from Kaitlyn Herb and Eva Mowery. This is Baldelomar's first goal of the season.

Quickly after, the Argos were able to capitalize on their 1-0 lead, and Olof Thorvaldsdottir put another on the board.

UWF drew a penalty kick in the 24th minute. Thorvaldsdottir took the kick and scored her second goal of the game, bringing the score to 3-0.

Coming into the second half, the Dolphins challenged the Argos, bringing pressure. They were able to score in the 63rd minute.

"For us to dig down after being scattered for a week and come together, I'm unbelievably proud of our players," said head coach Joe Bartlinski.

The Argos return home Sunday to face Queen's University of Charlotte at noon. They will play again with no fans in attendance due to continued cleanup after Hurricane Isaias. Live stats will be available on goargos.com.
