- Why do you give to UWF Athletics?
We have been sports fans all our life having grown up in Nebraska and followed their football and volleyball teams for years. (Our daughter and son-in-law are graduates of UWF.) A number of years ago we met and became friends with the Volleyball Coach, began attending games and quickly realized how good the sports program at UWF was. We wanted to support our friend and her team by going to as many games as possible, by contributing financially to the team and by capturing the action at as many games as possible through our love of photography. Over the years we have also met and become friends with many of the players, their parents and other boosters and have hosted a number of events for the team, parents and the Volleyball Boosters which has really personalized our support. We love attending sporting events at UWF and attending the various booster events and award banquets. Because of all of this, we love being able to support UWF athletics financially, through our photography and by attending matches and other sporting events.
- Why do you continue to give annually?
We are blessed to be able to give annually to UWF Athletics and we continue to give because we realize how much enjoyment we get by going to athletic events and interacting with the UWF athletes.
- What would you say is the best thing about supporting UWF Athletics?
We get a lot of satisfaction from knowing that our contributions are appreciated and from the enjoyment we get from watching the athletes compete. We also were extremely grateful to having been invited by the Volleyball team to travel with them in Europe in the summer of 2024.
- What makes you passionate about UWF Athletics?
Our friendship with the coaches, athletes and other boosters and the high level of competition makes us passionate about UWF.
We have enjoyed many experiences over the years, including attending home and away matches, hosting volleyball booster events, hosting the athletes at our home, photographing the volleyball and softball action at many matches and games and sharing our photographs with the university, the athletes and their parents. Probably the most memorable experience for us was being invited to travel Europe with the team in the summer of 2024 and watching the international competition. I would also add that we both became students at UWF about a year ago, taking one class a semester through the senior waiver program. We love being able to say we are both students and boosters of the University of West Florida.
