Argos Fall to Queens

CHARLOTTE, N.C. — West Florida lost to Queens (NC) 1-0 on Saturday. West Florida withstood six Queens (NC) attacking actions from 71:30 to 80:17 while the match remained 0-0, but the stretch was not enough in the one-goal loss.

First Half
- West Florida took the first shots of the half, with Adrian Rodriguez attempting one at 11:53 and Felipe Lawall following at 12:50.
- Queens (NC) answered with several looks during the middle of the half, while a physical stretch from 23:13 to 33:10 included four yellow cards and multiple fouls. West Florida added a Rodriguez shot, a corner kick and a Rafael Esteves attempt during that span.
- Queens (NC) closed the half with sustained pressure, recording five shots and two corner kicks from 35:27 to 44:31, but West Florida did not concede and the half ended 0-0.

Second Half
- Tomas Valles Gilbert saved Brock Gramann's shot at 55:04 before West Florida built a set-piece stretch with shots from Nikolas Rodriguez Alzate and Andrey Gentil and three corner kicks from 60:17 to 65:40 while the match remained 0-0.
- Queens (NC) pushed back from 71:30 to 80:17 with four shots and two corner kicks, with Valles Gilbert saving attempts by Enzo Resende and Isaac Chromey. Jonas Grauer also put a shot on frame for West Florida at 79:02.
- Queens (NC) broke through at 80:48 when Iker Carew scored off assists from Rodrigo Canovas and Luis Vera Mayorca, and the home side finished with a 1-0 win.

Valles Gilbert played all 90 minutes in goal and finished with four saves. Esteves recorded two shots to share the team lead. Adrian Rodriguez also finished with two shots for West Florida. Grauer put his lone shot attempt on goal.

West Florida is 2-7-1 overall and 2-3-0 in conference play. Queens (NC) is 3-6-2 overall and 2-1-2 in conference play.
