Christian Bosso is the February Donor of the Month! We appreciate the support and Argonaut athletics loyalty. Read the reasons for his generous contributions to UWF Athletics.
- Why do you give to UWF Athletics?
I give to UWF Athletics because the program played a major role in shaping who I am today and gave me some of my fondest memories. My experience as a student-athlete helped me develop discipline, leadership, and a strong sense of community. Giving back is a way to support the next generation of Argos and ensure they have the same opportunities I did, this is my opportunity to pay it forward. I feel very passionate about giving back and creating opportunities, much like those that were given to me.
- Why do you continue to give annually?
I continue to give each year because consistent support makes a real difference. Annual giving helps sustain scholarships, facilities, and resources that directly impact student-athletes. It's important to me to stay connected and contribute to the long-term success of UWF Athletics.
- What would you say is the best thing about supporting UWF Athletics?
The best thing about supporting UWF Athletics is knowing that your contribution has a direct impact on students' lives. It's rewarding to see the program continue to grow and to know you're helping student-athletes succeed both on the field and in the classroom.
- What makes you passionate about UWF Athletics?
I am passionate about UWF Athletics because I was a former UWF Athlete and built relationships with different athletes. These relationships helped me gain interest in following their teams that I still have to this day. I enjoy following each team at UWF, watching them compete for Conference titles, Regional titles, and National titles, like our Men's 2024-2025 Golf team! My coach, teammates, and athletic department emphasized excellence, accountability, and pride in being an Argo and Building Champions For Life. That sense of belonging stays with you long after graduation.
New successes are moments to enjoy, and the outrageous, magical success of football has been a delight to see.
- Is there anything else you'd like to add — perhaps a proud moment as an Argo fan or an experience you've really enjoyed?
We have had some proud moments as Argo Fans and some great experiences. I am lucky to work at Pensacola Country Club and have the opportunity to be around the team as they come out and practice at the facility, so I keep up with them regularly. It was fun to follow along with them during their National Championship run last year. One of the guys on team live streamed the playoff hole for us on Instagram so it was so exciting to watch the stream and see them win the National Championship last year, well overdue for Steve Fell's third National Championship. We've also had some great experiences this year as fans! My wife and I had our first child in November of 2025. This fall we were able to bring him on campus for all the home football games with my parents, so it has been cool to bring my son out to support our Argos.
- What memories stand out most from your time on the team or on campus?
I have plenty of memories from my time playing on the golf team. Practices, car rides, workouts but one of the best memories I have was my redshirt freshman year, our team made a comeback to force a playoff for the Conference Championship because Chandler Blanchet made a 60-footer on the last hole. In front of a crowd, more clutch putts from Talin Rajendranath and Bryce Geraghty, we won on the 2nd playoff hole. Other great memories were the following year we edged out defending national champions Florida Southern by a few shots to win the South Region Championship and then knocked them out of the National Championship in the Semifinals to advance to the National Championship match.
- What inspired you to start giving back to UWF?
I have been inspired to give back out of gratitude from my time at UWF. I wouldn't be where I am today without the support and opportunities UWF provided me, and there are other athletes like me, I think it is very important for our community to support the next generation of UWF athletes. Giving back feels like a natural way to say thank you and invest in the future of our program.
- What can the university do to strengthen its relationship with former student-athletes and donors like you?
I think part of it is on the athletes, to continue to want to be around the program and stay engaged with what is going on. There are lots of opportunities with the alumni events to stay connected but maybe if there was an event with athlete alumni to get them connected to the current teams and keep in touch with them to strengthen those relationships.
- What advice would you give to current student-athletes about staying connected after graduation?
To current athletes, I made sure to thank as many people as possible in the Athletic Department before I graduated to make sure, they knew I appreciated the opportunity to be part of the University of West Florida and it was the best experience and time of my life to that point. I regularly attend athletic events and am around campus, so I get to see most of the Athletic Department admin around and I stay connected, but I take it upon myself to make sure that I stay involved. After current athlete's graduate, it is important that they attend events, when possible, support the program, and give back in whatever way they can. We should want to see the University of West Florida continue to grow and achieve success, on the field, off the field, and continue to Build Champions for Life! Go Argos!
