CLINTON, Miss. — West Florida (4-1, 1-0 GSC) edged past Mississippi College (3-2, 1-1 GSC) with a 4-3 victory on Monday at the MC Tennis Complex. West Florida secured the win by capturing the doubles point and claiming singles victories at the No. 1, No. 2, and No. 6 positions.

West Florida secured the doubles point with victories on courts one and three. Diego Duran and Sebastian Rondon delivered a decisive 6-1 win at No. 1 doubles against Mikayel Avanesyan and Charles Lefort. Meanwhile, Rafael Sabio and Goncalo Quintela edged out Joshua Hinton and Sergio Ramirez Ocana, 7-6, at No. 3 doubles. Mississippi College captured their sole doubles win with Mattia Ricci and Matias Ruiz defeating Mark Neyelov and Vicente Couto, 6-2, at No. 2 doubles.

In singles, West Florida extended its lead with wins from Rondon and Duran. Rondon claimed a three-set victory at No. 1 singles, defeating Ricci 6-4, 4-6, 6-1. Duran added another point at No. 2 singles with a straight-set 6-2, 6-1 victory over Ruiz. Quintela secured the final singles win for West Florida at No. 6 singles, topping Lucas de Carvalho 6-2, 6-2.

Mississippi College responded with three singles victories. Florian Walcher overcame Sabio 7-5, 6-3 at No. 3 singles, while Avanesyan won at No. 4 singles, defeating Mateo Martinez 7-6, 6-4. Ramirez Ocana rounded out Mississippi College's singles success with a 6-2, 6-1 win over Couto at No. 5 singles.
