Box Score MOBILE, Ala. – The University of West Florida women's tennis team fell 5–2 to South Alabama on Friday afternoon, with the Argonauts earning the doubles point and a singles victory in the dual match.
The Argos claimed the opening doubles point by taking wins on courts two and three. West Florida's ace pair of
Carlota Verdu and
Sandra Recuenco Tarin battled in a tightly contested match on court one but ultimately fell.
Guadalupe Martinez and Aline Midori fought an extremely tight match on court two, emerging victorious by a score of 7-6, and
Sophie Smith and Laila Kamil clinched the doubles point by taking court three, 6-4.
South Alabama responded with wins on five singles courts, including a two-set decision on court four, to clinch the 5–2 final.
Kylie Kochis earned the Argos' lone singles point, winning court six 3-1
UWF will return home on Monday, February 16, where the Argos will host the University of Louisiana at 1:00 p.m.
