PENSACOLA, Fla. — West Florida defeated No. 31 Auburn University at Montgomery 6-1 on Wednesday at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex. West Florida secured the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions and claimed five of six singles matches.

Goncalo Quintela and Rafael Sabio claimed a decisive 6-2 win over the Warhawks' Guillermo Vedia Sanchez and Harry McDonagh on court two. Vicente Couto and Mateo Martinez followed with a 6-2 victory against Mark Nawa and Lucas Rosvall at No. 3 doubles. The match at No. 1 doubles was left unfinished with Jami Savolainen and Giuseppe Bonaiuti leading Diego Duran and Sebastian Rondon, 4-3.

In singles, the Argonauts extended their lead with Diego Duran's straight-set win over Jami Savolainen, 6-2, 6-1, at No. 2 singles, marking the first singles point for the home team. Goncalo Quintela followed suit at No. 6 singles, securing another point with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Lucas Rosvall. The clinching point came from Sebastian Rondon at No. 1 singles, who defeated Giuseppe Bonaiuti, 6-3, 6-1, giving the Argonauts an insurmountable 4-0 advantage.

The Argonauts continued their dominance with victories from Mateo Martinez at No. 3 singles, who overcame Guillermo Vedia Sanchez in three sets, 6-2, 2-6, 7-6(3), and Mark Neyelov at No. 5 singles, who posted a 6-3, 6-0 win against Mark Nawa. The Warhawks managed to claim a single point at No. 4 singles, where Harry McDonagh outlasted Vicente Couto in a closely contested three-set match, 0-6, 7-6(6), 7-6(6). West Florida concluded the match with a decisive 6-1 victory.
