PENSACOLA, Fla. — No. 14 West Florida (37-10, 22-8 GSC) secured a dominating 7-0 victory over Valdosta State (22-24, 14-16 GSC) at the UWF Softball Complex on Saturday. The Argos secured a 2-1 series win over the Blazers and won their third straight over one of their conference rivals.
The Argos amassed 10 hits, including a home run, while pitcher
Haley Guffey delivered a complete-game shutout with just three hits allowed. The Argos celebrated senior day, with nine seniors recognized prior to the game. The 2026 UWF Softball senior class includes

Olivia Keith,
Jessie Baughan,
Hannah Harper,
Abigail Pippen,
Bella Holliday,
Angelia Discenza,
Haley Guffey, and
Kamila Vicente.
Individual Highlights:
Haley Guffey delivered a complete game shutout, pitching 7 innings while allowing just three hits and one walk. She struck out two batters and threw 85 pitches, 55 of which were strikes. Guffey's performance led to her 24th win of the season, maintaining a strong record of 24-4.
Hannah Harper recorded two RBIs and hit a home run, leading the offensive charge for the Argonauts.
Jessie Baughan contributed with a triple and drove in one run.
Olivia Keith added a stolen base, a hit, and an RBI, supporting the team's overall performance.

In the first inning,
Miranda Harmon singled and advanced to third on an error.
Angelia Discenza reached first on an error, allowing Harmon to score.
Hannah Harper then hit a two-run homer, bringing Discenza home. The Argonauts led 3-0 at the end of the first inning.
In the second inning,
Bella Holliday singled and advanced to third on a hit by
Meg Fountain. Harmon then hit a sacrifice fly, allowing Holliday to score. The score was 4-0 in favor of West Fla. at the end of the second inning.
The third inning saw
Emma Brice double and advance on a sacrifice fly by
Abigail Pippen.
Jessie Baughan tripled, scoring Brice, followed by an RBI single from
Olivia Keith. Keith later scored on a wild pitch. West Fla. extended its lead to 7-0 after the third inning.
Neither team scored in the remaining innings, and West Fla. maintained its lead to secure the victory, 7-0.
