LOUISVILLE, Ky. — UWF Softball capped off its final season in Division II by staying nationally ranked in the last NFCA coaches Poll of the 2026 season. The Argos finish the year ranked No. 14.
 
UWF finished the season as the highest ranked Gulf South Conference team in the country in their final year in the conference, with AUM also staying ranked behind them at No. 17. West Alabama and UAH also received votes. The Argos made it to the NCAA South Region II Final but fell in their elimination game. They finished with a 44-14 record, their best mark since 2019.
 
The Argos now prepare to jump to Division I athletics in the Atlantic Sun Conference, beginning a new era of West Florida Softball.
