PENSACOLA, Fla. — Former NFL defensive lineman Fred Robbins will join the UWF football broadcast team as the color analyst for the 2026 season. Robbins will work alongside play-by-play announcer
Will Kennedy on ESPN+ broadcasts of all UWF home football games.
Robbins brings 12 seasons of NFL experience to the UWF broadcast booth, having played for the Minnesota Vikings, New York Giants and St. Louis Rams during his professional career. He was a key member of the Giants' 2007 team that defeated the previously unbeaten New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLII in February 2008.
A native of the Pensacola area, Robbins attended J.M. Tate High School before continuing his football career at Wake Forest University. His combination of professional playing experience and deep connections to the local community will provide UWF fans with a unique perspective throughout the 2026 season.
Developing the Next Generation of Football Talent
Robbins has continued to share his football knowledge and experience with the next generation of athletes through
Fred Robbins Performance, where he trains and prepares aspiring NFL Draft prospects. His work includes helping athletes develop the physical skills, football knowledge, and preparation necessary to pursue professional opportunities.
That experience gives Robbins a unique perspective for the broadcast booth, allowing him to draw upon his own NFL career as well as his work preparing today's athletes for the demands of professional football.
"I'm excited to join the UWF football broadcast team and have the opportunity to share the game with Argos fans," Robbins said. "Football has been a huge part of my life, and I'm looking forward to bringing my experience from the NFL and college football to the broadcast booth. I'm especially excited to do it here in the Pensacola community."
Robbins and his wife, Tia, live in the Pensacola area with their two sons.
Robbins joins Kennedy as UWF enters its first season of competition at the NCAA Division I level. The Argos will compete in the Atlantic Sun Conference in 2026-27, while football will compete in the United Athletic Conference.
The 2026 season opens on Thursday, August 27, when UWF hosts Southern Illinois at Pen Air Field. The Thursday night matchup marks the beginning of a new era of UWF football and will be available to watch live on ESPN+.
Fans can follow UWF football throughout the season at GoArgos.com and through the Argos' official social media channels.
