PENSACOLA, Fla. — West Florida (0-1-0) fell to UTRGV (1-0-0) with a final score of 3-2 on Thursday evening at Ashton Brosnaham Park. West Florida scored twice in the first half but was unable to hold the lead as UTRGV scored twice in the second half to secure the win.
First Half

Tobias Gjesdahl opened the scoring for West Florida with an assist from
Nikolas Rodriguez Alzate.
- Mouhamed Pouye equalized for UTRGV in the 29th minute, making it 1-1.

Adrian Rodriguez restored West Florida's lead at 35:37, assisted by
Andrey Gentil.
- West Florida led 2-1 at the end of the first half.
Second Half
- At 66:29, UTRGV's Emmanuel Gore Bi scored, leveling the match at 2-2.
- Just over ten minutes later, in the 78th minute, Malang Mandiang found the net with an assist from Sammy Jadid, putting UTRGV ahead 3-2.
- West Florida's
Felipe Lawall attempted to equalize with a shot at the 71st and 82nd minutes, but neither found the target.
- UTRGV held on to its lead, concluding the match with a 3-2 victory.
Tomas Valles Gilbert recorded five saves during the match, facing 13 shots. Gentil contributed with an assist, helping to set up the team's offensive plays. Gjesdahl scored one goal with his single shot on target. Rodriguez also found the back of the net, scoring one of his two shot attempts.
