PENSACOLA, Fla. –  The University of West Florida men's basketball team will take on Florida State University in the Battle at the Bay on Sunday, Nov. 29, at 2 p.m. at the Pensacola Bay Center, marking one of the most highly anticipated matchups in the Argonauts' inaugural NCAA Division I season.

"Playing Florida State in Pensacola is an exciting opportunity for our men's basketball program and for the entire UWF community," said UWF Athletic Director Dave Scott. "As we begin our new Division I era, matchups like this reflect the caliber of competition our student-athletes will experience while also allowing us to showcase UWF on a much larger stage."

The Battle at the Bay completes UWF's 2026-27 schedule and adds an Atlantic Coast Conference opponent to a challenging slate of non-conference games that includes Florida International University, the University of South Florida, Navy and more. The Florida State matchup will give UWF fans the opportunity to see their hometown team compete against a new regional rival in an iconic Pensacola venue before the Argonauts turn their attention to Atlantic Sun Conference play.

"Anytime you have the opportunity to compete against a program like Florida State, it's something our players and staff can be excited about," said UWF Men's Basketball Head Coach Tanner Smith. "We're looking forward to competing against the Seminoles and giving our fans another memorable night of basketball in Pensacola."

Tickets for the Battle at the Bay will go on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28, at pensacolabaycenter.com or through the Pensacola Bay Center box office. Presale information is available now.

The Battle at the Bay will be part of the Pensacola Hardwood Series, presented through a partnership between the Pensacola Bay Center and Russ Potts Productions Inc., a sports and entertainment company that specializes in the organization and promotion of live sports and entertainment content.
