Philip Ebert is the Assistant Athletic Director for Academics and Student-Athlete Development at the University of West Florida, where he plays a pivotal role in ensuring the academic success and personal growth of student-athletes. A former UWF Baseball player from 2007-2012, Ebert was a member of the 2011 Division II National Championship team, the first in the program's history. Ebert is a 3-time graduate of UWF having earned a bachelor’s degree in Education (Elem/ESE/ESOL/Reading), a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership and a Specialist degree in Education with an emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction.

Before beginning his career at UWF in 2017, Ebert dedicated five years to teaching in the Escambia County School District and two years in the Santa Rosa County School District, where he taught 5th grade and Special Education. This experience provided a solid foundation for his current role, where he leads initiatives designed to enhance academic performance and support the holistic development of student-athletes.

Working closely with coaches, academic advisors, and student-athletes, Ebert develops strategies for time management, career readiness and personal development. His passion for education and sports drives him to create programs that empower student-athletes to excel in both their academic and athletic pursuits, ensuring a well-rounded collegiate experience.

Ebert is originally from Naples, Fla. He is married to Sierra Hansen Ebert, a former UWF Volleyball standout. Sierra is the Assistant Director for Annual Giving at UWF. They have a son, Emmett, who loves to be at all of the UWF games.Â
