2017 NCBWA Preseason All-American Honorable Mention

2017: 
Led the team with 68.2 innings pitched over 17 appearances and seven starts… Posted a 4-4 record and struck out a team-high 58 batters against just 17 walks allowed… Finished eighth in the GSC with a 3.41 strikeout-to-walk ratio… Finished fifth in the league with a 1.21 WHIP… Posted back-to-back complete games against North Alabama and Alabama Huntsville from 3/4-3/11… Led team with three saves on the year, including one in regular season finale against Lee (2 IP, 0 H, 3 K) and in GSC Tournament against Mississippi College (1 IP, 0 H, 2 K)… Stranded 10 of 13 inherited runners for the second best ratio on the team… Struck out season-high seven against West Georgia on 3/18 and Union on 4/1… Recorded a 2-0 record with a 1.65 ERA and .132 opponent batting average in the month of February… Owned a 2.82 ERA and .192 opponent batting average as a reliever.

With a move to the bullpen, Petree posted one of the most dominant seasons by a relief pitcher in program history... Petree was the lone relief pitcher selected on the 2016 All-GSC First Team and was the go-to arm in the UWF bullpen to get the Argos out of numerous late-inning jams... Led the UWF bullpen with a 6-2 record, .182 opponent's batting average and a 1.53 ERA... Stranded 17 of 22 inherited base runners and struck out 45 batters and walked only seven in 47 innings of work... Recorded a 6.4 walk-to-strikeout ratio, good for third best on the team... Tossed 3.1 innings of one-hit ball against Lee in GSC Regular Season clincher... Hurled a season-high 5.1 innings against a No. 9 Alabama Huntsville squad, allowing just one run and five hits... Posted a season-high six strikeouts on April 23 against Shorter in 3.2 innings... Allowed just eight extra-base hits and one home run on the year... First player in program history to have pitched at least 35 innings in regular season and record an opponent's batting average under .150... Recorded a .194 opponent's batting average with runners on base and a .172 opponent average with two outs. 

2015 All-Gulf South Conference Second Team

2015:
Appeared in 14 games and made 13 starts in his first season at UWF... posted a 5-0 record... Recorded a 3.31 ERA in 65.1 innings pitched... struck out 55 while walking just 13... opponents hit .283 against him... finished the regular season with the seventh-best ERA in the conference among eligible pitchers.

2012-2014 (Central Florida): Posted a 4-0 record with a 2.93 ERA, 23 Ks and 10 walks in 30.2 innings pitched.

High School: Two-time captain and all-star, named All-Orange County and All-Metro Utility Player of the Year... named Perfect Game All-American and Under Armour All-American... hit .320 with eight doubles, two triples, a homer and 18 RBI his senior season... went 7-3 with a 1.09 ERA, 54 strikeouts and seven walks in 58 innings pitched... won four AAU and USSSA National Championships while a member of the Central Florida Express and Apopka Black Sox.

Personal: Son of Tim and Lori Petree... has two siblings, Kaylie and Analyse... father Tim played baseball at Florida Tech and sister Analyse is a current softball player at UAB.
