Jordan Remsza is entering his third season coaching the Defensive Backs and serving as the Special Teams Coordinator since returning to UWF in December 2022.
His leadership has been instrumental in UWF’s defensive dominance, helping the Argos rank among the nation’s best across multiple statistical categories. Under his guidance, the Argos defense led the Gulf South Conference and finished top nationally in total yards/play allowed, passing yards/play allowed, sacks/game, TFL’s/game, forced fumbles, and opponent third-down conversion percentage.
His impact on special teams has been equally impressive, leading one of the most explosive and efficient units in the country. UWF led the GSC and finished Top Ten nationally in net punting, net kickoffs, punt return average, and kickoff return average. Under his guidance, UWF has broken multiple school records in punt return average, kickoff return average, punt return TDs, punt return yards in a season and game. UWF has also found their way into the GSC Record books, finishing Top 5 in multiple categories.
Remsza has developed multiple standout players in the Secondary and on Special Teams. Quincy Milhomme became a standout Safety for the Argos in 2023, earning All-Region and All-Conference Honors. In 2024, Virgil Lemons was an All-American Punt Returner and an All-Region CB which earned him an NFL contract with the Tennessee Titans. Virgil led the nation in punt return average (School Record), punt return yards (GSC Record/School Record), and set the UWF single-game record for punt return yards and punt return TD’s in a season. Logan Gregory was awarded All-Conference and All-Region honors as a punter, who ranked among the nation’s best in punting average, breaking the UWF single season punt average record. Jay Sharp was awarded All-Conference honors while leading the conference and finishing top ten in the nation with a kick return average of 33 yards which broke the UWF single season record. Anthony Ballard was also honored with an All-Conference award as a Special Teams Utility Player.
Before returning to UWF, Remsza gained extensive coaching experience at multiple levels. In Fall of 2022, he served as the Defensive Backs Coach and Recruiting Coordinator at Quincy University, where he developed two All-GLVC defensive backs. Earlier that year in Spring of 2022, he coached at Faulkner University in the same role. From 2019 to 2021, he served as a graduate assistant at UWF, coaching the outside linebackers, playing a key role in the team’s 2019 National Championship defense. Under his guidance, the outside linebacker unit totaled 18 sacks, with Trent Archie earning All-Conference and All-Region honors.
His coaching career also includes stints at Avila University as Recruiting Coordinator and Running Backs Coach in 2018, and Independence Community College from 2017 to 2018 as Assistant Defensive Backs Coach and Recruiting Coordinator. At ICC, he helped lead the team to its first KJCCC title in over 30 years while the program was featured on Netflix’s Last Chance U.
As a player, Remsza was a standout defensive back at Ripon College, earning First Team All-Conference honors in 2015. He finished his career with 161 tackles, 8.5 tackles for loss, five interceptions, 22 passes defended, and three forced fumbles and recoveries. He remains tied for eighth in school history for single-game interceptions.
A Milwaukee, Wisconsin native, he earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology with minors in sociology and history from Ripon College in 2016. His deep knowledge of the game and relentless commitment to player development continues to elevate UWF’s program, solidifying the Argos as one of the top teams in the country.
