Kendric Cook joined the University of West Florida football coaching staff in 2015 as a graduate assistant coach, working with the tight ends.

Cook comes to UWF from Gadsden City High School, where he served as an assistant coach and worked with the wide receivers in 2014. He was also a science instructor at GCHS for students ranging from 6th to 12th grade and was a part of the school’s IEP team.

Cook graduated from Mississippi State University in 2011 after a four-year playing career on the university’s football team. He started as a true freshman at MSU in 2008 and participated on the football leadership committee in 2009 and 2010. Cook was the team’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee representative in 2010-11 and was named to the All-Southeast Conference Academic Team three times in his playing career.

After playing at Mississippi State, he joined the coaching staff as a student assistant for the 2011 season. His duties included breaking down film with the offense and defense, generate scouting reports with offensive players, and collaborating with wide receivers on their practice habits and techniques. Cook also worked with the department's Academic Services unit and with the Strength and Conditioning department.

Cook’s first head coaching job came at McIntosh High School in McIntosh, Ala., where he served as both the head football coach and head baseball coach. Along with his coaching duties, Cook was a graduation advisor for seniors at the school, was a member of the leadership team for school improvement, oversaw all athletic facilities, and was an instructor for health and driver’s education.

Cook holds teaching licenses in both Mississippi and Alabama, and he’s coached several NFL players including Vic Ballard and Fletcher Cox.
