Riley Swanson is in his third season with the UWF football program in 2019, serving as the cornerbacks coach last year after working with the running backs in 2017.
The UWF defensive backs collected eight interceptions and broke up 12 passes on the season. Marvin Conley was a First Team All-Gulf South Conference selection, becoming the first defensive back in program history to achieve the feat.
In 2017, his running back corps combined for 1,734 yards and 15 touchdowns. The team's season per game average of 155 yards was up from 99 in the inaugural campaign of 2016.
Swanson was a four-year letterwinner at Wake Forest as a defensive back. He played in 47 games for the Demon Deacons and finished his career with 179 tackles, seven interceptions and two fumble recoveries.
He and his wife, Kaylee, welcomed their first child, Milo, in December of 2018.
