Quentshon Wilson is in his second season as a graduate assistant at UWF. He joined the men’s basketball staff in 2024 after serving as an assistant coach at Pensacola State College. During the 2023–24 season, Wilson helped guide the Pirates to their first winning season since 2019–20 while overseeing one of the top defensive units in the nation, ranking fifth nationally.
In addition to on-court coaching, Wilson managed the program’s strength and conditioning initiatives and played a key role in player development. His work contributed to four All-Panhandle Conference selections, two All-State/Region 8 honorees, and six Division I signees during his time at PSC.
Prior to his time at PSC, he coached for three years at Central High School in Milton, Florida, as the varsity assistant coach and as the Head JV & Freshman coach.
During his first two years at Central he helped lead the program to a combined 38-10 record with a state runner-up finish in 2021. In 2021, he guided the JV program to a 9-1 record which included going undefeated in district play. Wilson was also in charge of the plyometrics program and individual player development during his time at Central.
During the summer of 2020, Coach Wilson was the Head Coach of the West Florida Starz 17u AAU program. He led the program to two tournament championships and a 19-9 record. Eight of his players went on to play on the collegiate level, including one Division 1 signee.
Before joining Central High School’s basketball staff, he was a skill trainer at Dothan Hoops Training Facility in Dothan, Alabama.
Wilson earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Pensacola State College in May 2024. He is the father of two children – his daughter, Zariyah (7), and his son, Zamire Q’Jay (4).
