Arick Gonzales begins his first season in his new role with Argonauts men's soccer team in his role as director of soccer operations.
Gonzales looks to continue to give back to his alma mater after completing his undergraduate degree in hospitality management and getting his minor in sports management in the spring of 2019 from UWF.Â
During his time as a player, Arick was a key defender and midfielder on the 2016 and 2018 teams that earned spots in the Gulf South Conference Tournament Finals. Gonzales only had one career goal but it came in the biggest of moments as he scored a late game-winning goal at Auburn University at Montgomery.
He succeded off the field as well as Arick was named to the 2016 GSC FireSeeds Fall Academic Honor Roll as well as the 2017 GSC Fall Academic Honor Roll.
Gonzalez helped coach the men's soccer team to a GSC title in 2021. This would be their first GSC title since 2013 and 10th in program history.Â
Prior to joining UWF, Gonzalez played 2 seasons for the Orlando City Pro Academy Team.
