Biography
Eduardo Oliveira was a part of the West Florida men's soccer program for seven seasons as both a player and coach, and in May 2010 he continued his coaching career in his home country of Brazil. Oliveira started as an assistant coach for the Brazil U-20 women's national team, and he moved up to a position with the senior national team later that year.
Oliveira played for head coach Bill Elliott from 2003-06, one of the most successful four-year periods in school history. He then stayed with the team as an assistant coach, a position he would hold until 2009.
Oliveira had a stellar four-year career as a defender for the Argonauts. During his tenure he started 57 of 59 games in his career. In his senior season, Oliveira was named to the Daktronics Division II All-America Team. He was the first Argonaut to earn All-America honors since West Florida joined the NCAA in 1995. Oliveira was named the Daktronics South Region Player of the Year after helping lead West Florida to a Gulf South Conference title and an appearance in the Division IIÂ semifinals in 2006. He was also a unanimous selection to the All-GSC first team, his second consecutive all-conference honor. For his career, Oliveira totaled 19 points on nine goals and one assist. He played in 4,431 minutes while only missing two matches in his career.
Outside of his coaching responsibilities at UWF, Oliveira also had many active coaching positions outside of the university. Starting in 2007 he was the head coach/camp coordinator for Tetrabrazil Soccer Academy. He was also the head coach for the U-10/12's boys academy and U 14's boys team for Bayside Soccer Club in Gulf Breeze, Fla. since 2008. In the summer of 2009 he was hired on as an assistant coach for the Panama City Pirates, a team in the Premier Development League (PDL) which is associated with the United Soccer Leagues (USL).
Oliveira earned his bachelor's degree in Exercise Science at UWF and was a graduate assistant for the Health, Leisure and Exercise Science department at UWF, teaching Exercise Science and Physical Education classes.
