2017 GSC Fall Academic Honor Roll

2017 (Sr.): Finished second for the Argonauts at the NCAA South Regional Championship and finished third for the team in four other races... Recorded top-50 finishes in three meets... Best placing of the year came at the Falcon Classic in Montevallo, Alabama, when she finished 18th overall with a 25:12.18... Ran a season-best 19:42.70 at the GSC Championships, finishing 43rd overall... Ran a 24:27.6 at the NCAA South Regional Championship, finishing 66th overall.

2016 (Jr.): Secured a top-20 finish at the Gulf Coast Stampede with a 22:03.70... Ran season-best 20:53.84 at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

2015 (So.): A top runner for the University of West Florida, placing in the top five for all of the races in 2015. After coming off an injury from the 2014 season, Parnell ran a season-best time at the GSC Championship meet with a time of 19:53.43 in the 5,000-meter race…Ran a season-best time (24:58.56) in the 6,000-meter race at the Watson Ford Invitational.

Spring 2014: Finished 22nd (20:21.09) in the 5k at FSU Relays... placed 13th (12:00.01) in the 3k at the USA Invite

Fall 2013 (Fr.): Placed 4th overall and 3rd on the team (24:46) in the 6k at the Watson Ford invitational … Placed 8th overall (19:54) in the 5k at the Gulf Coast Stampede … Placed 17th overall (19:43.48) in the 5k at the Gulf South Conference Championships … Finished 22nd overall (19:09.12) in the 5k at the Florida State Invitational … Finished 23rd overall (24:14.40) in the 6k at the NCAA DII South Regional Championships … Finished 26th overall (20:05) in the 5k at the Pre-Regional Meet.

High School: Competed in cross country and track and field at Gulf Breeze High School… won numerous individual honors, including the senior scholar athlete award, the cross country senior academic award, the track senior academic award and the congressional award… was twice named her cross country team’s most valuable player… ran a personal best 19:48 in the 5,000-meter run for the cross country team… set personal records in track in the 800-meter run (2:38), 1,600-meter run (5:31) and 3,200-meter run (11:54).

Personal: Daughter of Marilyn Bowden and Tony Parnell… has one sibling, Chase… majoring in communications… lists paddle boarding, volunteering and reading as some of her favorite hobbies.
