Amanda Jones

Amanda Jones is in her second season with the UWF volleyball program, joining the Argonauts in 2019 as the team's assistant coach.
 
Jones, who has more than seven years coaching volleyball, has spent four years as the head coach at Point University in West Point, Ga.
 
“I am honored to be named as the assistant for the University of West Florida volleyball team,” Jones said. “This is a dream come true to be able to work under such an esteemed coach as Melissa Wolter. She and her staff have worked tirelessly to bring this program to such excellence and I am thrilled to jump in and start doing my part. This is an incredible community and I am eager to continue raising my family in this environment. In four years, she built the Skyhawks program from the bottom of the 14-team Appalachian Athletic Conference to a tie for third-place in 2018. Point averaged 18 wins in the past three seasons and went 24-12 in 2018. Point established the school’s single-season victory record with 19 win in 2017 before surpassing the benchmark again this past season.
 
In 2018, Point senior Tatiana Dale was named the AVCA Northeast Region Player of the Year, AAC Player of the Year and earned a spot on the AVCA All-America team – all programs firsts. Jones also mentored five AAC All-Conference selections, two AAC All-Freshman team recipients and had 23 All-Academic representatives during her time with the Skyhawks.
 
Jones served as head volleyball coach of First Assembly Christian School in 2014 and the director/head coach of East Alabama Volleyball Club from 2013-15. She was a graduate assistant at Southern Miss for two seasons (2012-2013). Jones helped guide the Golden Eagles to a 17-14 record in the 2013 season.
 
Jones began her collegiate playing career at Missouri State-West Plains Community College in 2007, before transferring to Evangel University. Jones was a three-year starter at Evangel and a 3-time All-Heart of America Athletic Conference performer. She helped Evangel win back-to-back conference championships in 2009 and 2010.
 
During her three-year career, the Crusaders went 78-29 and finished the 2010 season ranked No. 22 in the NAIA National Coaches' poll.  In 2009, Evangel advanced to the first round of the NAIA National Tournament.
 
Jones' previous coaching experiences include head coaching positions with Hub City Volleyball Club (2012-2013), the Springfield Stars Volleyball Club (2008-2012) and the West Plains Volleyball Club (2007-2008). She was also a student assistant for Evangel in 2011.
 
A native of Willard, Mo., Jones received a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education from Evangel in 2012. She also earned a Master of Science in Human Performance with an emphasis in Physical Education from Southern Mississippi in 2013.
 
She and her husband, Seth, have two sons, Keller and Carver.
