CLINTON, Miss. – The West Florida women's soccer team welcomed Mississippi College to the Gulf South Conference with a thrilling, 2-1 victory on the road in Clinton, Miss. Sunday afternoon.
The Choctaws tied the game 1-1 in the 82nd minute, but UWF's
Daryl Bell (Sarasota, Fla./Southeast HS) responded with the game-winning goal 23 seconds later to lead UWF to the win.
UWF improved to 9-5 overall and 7-3 in the GSC while MC dropped to 9-7-1 and 2-6-1.
"I'm very proud of how our team fought back after conceding the late goal to get the game-winner," UWF coach
Joe Bartlinski said. "Mississippi College is a great addition to our conference. They will be a fantastic competitor for years to come."

April Syme (Mississauga, Ontario/Tyler JC) scored her team-leading eighth goal of the season in the 33rd minute to give UWF a 1-0 lead in the first half.
Hugrun Elvarsdottir (Reykjavík, Iceland/Commercial College of Iceland) assisted both of the Argos' goals.
UWF will host Valdosta State on Senior Day at the UWF Soccer Complex Oct. 31 at 5 p.m.
