ROME, Ga. – The University of West Florida volleyball team will enter the 2014 Gulf South Conference Tournament in Rome, Ga. this weekend as the No. 2 seed and will face the No. 3 seed Valdosta State in the GSC Tournament Semifinal on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 2:30 p.m. ET. This will be the first time since 2009 that West Florida will be on the road for the conference tournament after hosting the tournament in Pensacola, Fla. in 2008 and again from 2010-13.
UWF has won six consecutive GSC championships and will look to win its seventh this weekend. North Alabama currently holds the record for consecutive conference tournament championships (7) from 1996-02.

FOUR ARGOS NAMED TO ALL-GSC TEAMWest Florida senior

ARGOS COME IN AT NO. 4 IN LATEST REGIONAL RANKINGSUWF moved up to No. 4 in the latest NCAA South Region Poll after ending the regular season on a seven-match winning streak. The SSC, the GSC and SIAC volleyball tournament champion will receive and automatic bid to the 2014 NCAA DII South Regional Championship. Five at-large bids will be awarded based on the NCAA South Region Poll after the conference champions have been set.
SCOTT, NEBLETT EARN GSC WEEKLY HONORSSarah Scott was named the GSC Offensive Player of the Week while
Rachel Neblett was named the GSC Freshman of the Week in the final week of the regular season. Scott tallied 37 kills at a .420 clip last week to help lead West Florida to three conference wins. Neblett tallied 13 blocks at 1.86 blocks per set in two matches.
SCOTTY MOVES INTO THIRD IN CAREER BLOCKSUWF senior
Sarah Scott moved into third place on the career blocks list at West Florida last week. Scott currently has 292 career blocks and needs 15 blocks to move into second place in career blocks at West Florida.
