CARROLTON, Ga. – The University of West Florida volleyball team swept Gulf South Conference opponent West Georgia 3-0 (25-18, 25-17, 25-20) in the final regular season road match of the year on Thursday night. West Florida (23-6, 16-3 GSC) held West Georgia to a .074 team attacking percentage in the win.
UWF was led by a balanced offensive attack on the night with four student-athletes with seven or more kills. West Florida sophomore
Corisha Smith (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman HS) tallied nine kills at an impressive .571 clip while senior
Sarah Scott (Plainfield, Ill./Texas-San Antonio) tallied nine kills as well.
Sophomore
Cora Bidlack (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) tallied eight kills at a .333 clip while freshman
Rachel Neblett (Austin, Texas/Vista Ridge HS) added a five kills and five blocks in the win.
UWF freshman
Monique StCyr (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown HS) tallied 21 assists while junior
Colleen Starrs (West Bloomfield, Mich./Walled Lake Central HS) added a team-high 15 digs.
West Florida will wrap up the regular season at home by playing host to Mississippi College on Saturday, November 8 at 6 p.m. CT.
