CLINTON, Miss. – The West Florida men's basketball team lost to Mississippi College 78-60 Thursday evening on the road.
The Argonauts (5-6, 1-4 Gulf South Conference) shot 48.9 percent from the field, but the Choctaws (3-4, 1-4) posted a 49.1 shooting percentage and forced 28 UWF turnovers.
"I don't think we came ready to play," UWF coach
Bob Stinnett said. "It looked like we started Christmas break early. We tried a lot of people, but we couldn't find the right combination. They just had more energy than we did."
Lendward Griffin (Jacksonville, Fla./Ribault HS) led UWF with 11 points, three steals and two blocks, and
Demetrius Moore (Paxton, Fla./Paxton HS) totaled nine points with four assists and four rebounds.
UWF will travel to Delta State Dec. 20 for its final game before the New Year.
