CARROLLTON, Ga. – The No. 18-ranked University of West Florida volleyball team defeated West Georgia 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-18) on the road Sunday afternoon to remain undefeated in Gulf South Conference play this season. West Florida (19-4, 11-0 GSC) tallied eight blocks and nine service aces in the win.
Sophomore
Monique StCyr (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown HS) tallied a career-high seven service aces in the win over UWG. StCyr also had 34 assists, three kills, five digs and a block on Sunday.
Junior
Corisha Smith (Inwood, W.Va./Musselman HS) led the team offensively with 13 kills at a .345 clip and also had three blocks in the win. Junior
Cora Bidlack (Randolph, N.J./Randolph HS) added eight kills at a .333 clip with two blocks while sophomore
Rachel Neblett (Austin, Texas/Vista Ridge HS) tallied six kills and a block on Sunday.
Junior
Kathryn Torre (Highland, Ill./State College of Florida) had six blocks and four kills while junior
Tori Martella (Jacksonville, Fla./Providence HS) led the team with 16 digs.
West Florida will next face Valdosta State on the road on Tuesday, October 20 at 6 p.m. ET before returning home to Pensacola.
